Hello, my friends. I hope you’ve enjoyed looking through my photography portfolio and that maybe, just maybe, it’s inspired you to get out there and experiment with your camera! I know it can seem daunting to finagle with your camera settings while you’re out and about trying to get that special shot. Fear not! I am here to share the knowledge that I’ve learned with you so that you can feel confident and carefree when you’re doing your thing. That’s what I’ve created this blog for; to help lay the bare-minimum foundation of shooting SOOC (Straight-Out-Of-Camera) for you! Get out there, practice, create, and be the artist you want to be! Use these tricks to carve out your own path and remember that in photography there are lots of rules. All of which we learn so that we can break them when the moment calls for it.
On top of my love of photography, I also love reading and writing. When I was a child I wanted to be an author and would write my own stories all the time. I hadn’t written anything creative in a very long time, but finally decided that I was going to minor in Creative Writing while working on my Bachelors of Science in Digital Design. It was an amazing decision because it allowed me to re-kindle my love of the written word. Although it’s scary, I also want to use this space to share some of the works I’ve written as well as my thoughts on the books I’m reading. Call it weird, but I loved writing book reviews in elementary, middle, and high school! It’s my goal to add in meaningful photographs to every post so we can continue to learn and appreciate this art together. I hope this little look into my creative photography and writing world will inspire you to share your passion too!
